Selected Poems

Pound somewhere says that one should not expect to write decent poetry without putting in as many practice hours as the average music teacher spends in learning her trade. Being married to a long-time music teacher, I have an inkling of what he was talking about. To get everything right can require long meditation, and a good poem is as unforgiving of timidity and arrogance as any Zen master.
