Biographical Sketch
Doug Barrett grew up in Oakland and Davis, California and was educated at UC Santa Cruz, Brigham Young University, and University of Washington (Ph.D. 2000). In addition to teaching philosophy at Sierra Nevada College and English at Deep Springs College and Western Nevada College, where he served as an editor for The Wildcat Review, he has worked as a camp counselor, wrangler, bank courier, retail clerk, census taker, mail carrier, and academic labor organizer. After many years in the Tahoe Sierra region of Nevada and California, he relocated to Maine in 2020. A fair-to-middling birder, Doug also enjoys drawing, and playing blues, Celtic, and old-timey music.
